We loan because:we believe given the opportunity, every individual has within them the ability to make a difference. Our aim is to afford those opportunities to individuals looking to change their lives and in doing so better their community.
About us:We are New Englanders, located in the northeast corner of the United States. We hail from towns dotted along the Green Mountains of Vermont and the sandy coastlines of the Bay and Ocean States. The White Mountains and wilderness of (the free state) New Hampshire and the Gold Coast of Connecticut we call our home. The dense forests of Maine lend us the Pine Tree emblem affixed upon our flag proudly uniting the region for hundreds of years and today our cause for empowering people around the world. We welcome anyone who wishes to join us!

Hello Team New Englanders! Every Monday we will assess the team's overall impact and our ranking in relation to the rest of the Kiva community. As of 12 AM on 10/20/08 this is how things stand:

Another fantastic week for Team New England. We surpassed the $2000 loaned earlier in the week and are now eyeing the century mark for the number of loans made. With a little luck come next Monday we will have a new target goal in mind! Happy Lending everyone!

Kiva's 3 Year Birthday Bash in Boston


...well, Cambridge anyway. That's right, on Wednesday Kiva turns 3 and to celebrate they are hosting happy hour parties in major cities around the country. If you are interested in attending the event it begins at 9pm at Tommy Doyles (map) in the Harvard Square area. As of last check the Facebook page shows 30+ people have RSVP'd so there will definitely be a good turn out. For more details check out the invite on Kiva's page linked here. If you are in the area stop on in and grab yourself a drink and celebrate with your fellow lenders.

Another productive week for Team New England. We smashed through the 50 loans level and are well are are way of reaching the $2000 loaned plateau. All of this is before the team's 1 month birthday (10/8/08)! There will be a few forthcoming notes concerning Kiva's upcoming 3 year birthday celebration so check back soon, but until then...Happy Lending!
